Micro-needling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that improves the overall quality of the skin by creating punctures, or micro-channels, in the upper layers of the skin. These punctures stimulate circulation and the production of elastin and collagen  Micro-needling can be used to tighten loose or lax skin, improve the appearance of acne and scarring, reduce the appearance of large pores, improve skin tone and texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Micro-needling treatments are performed using an electronic device containing ultra-fine needles that create controlled punctures in the skin. These micro-channels trigger the body’s natural healing response, which thickens the dermis and softens wrinkles and reduces the appearance of scarring. This treatment can improve the effectiveness of your topical skin care products, or can be used in combination with chemical peels to further enhance the results of the treatments.

When will I see results?

Many patients can see an improvement in the quality of their skin with a single micro-needling treatment. For optimal results, we recommend patients have a series of three to five micro-needling treatments spaced about two to four weeks apart.

Is there a recovery period?

This treatment is minimally invasive and has little to no downtime associated with it. Many patients are able to immediately return to their normal activities after a treatment session.

Are there any side effects?

Some patients may experience some mild redness and swelling, similar to a mild sunburn, or some pinpoint bruising in the treatment area. These side effects are temporary and typically subside within the first few days following a treatment session.
